Water-based adhesive

This installation was created on the second floor of an unfinished and abandoned apartment building located near the mouth of the Tamsui River. The interior surfaces of the space were exposed cement, either because they had never been finished, or after being finished were partially demolished. I stained a recessed area of the floor with a solution of construction grade methyl cellulose and water.
